Inter-Collegiate Paper Presentation Competition

The Department of Commerce, Don Bosco College, Kohima, successfully organized an inter-collegiate paper presentation competition on"Impact of GST on Small Businesses" on 1st March 2025. The event was held at Hall NF4, commencing at 10:00 AM. The competition aimed to provide students with an opportunity to explore, analyze, and present their perspectives on the influence of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on small enterprises. Shri. Athishu Keshe, Inspector, CGST & Customs, was the special invitee for the event, sharing valuable insights on GST regulations and their impact on small businesses. 

 

The program was structured systematically, beginning with an invocation by M. Nyanbeni Ovung from B.Com 2nd Semester, followed by a welcome address by the chairperson, Kechegi Kent of B.Com 6th Semester. A special number was performed by students of B.Com 2nd Semester before the commencement of the competition. The competition hour witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who presented well-researched papers on the theme, followed by interactive discussions. Another special number was performed by Hopong Chingmak of B.Com 6th Semester. The highlight of the event was the declaration of results and prize distribution, recognizing the best presentations. Kanito Lohe of B.Com 6th Semester delivered words of gratitude, and the program concluded with the college anthem and refreshments. 

 

The event was a resounding success, providing a platform for academic engagement and knowledge-sharing among students. The presentations demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the GST system and its practical implications. Shri. Athishu Keshe's address enriched the participants' perspectives on economic policies and business regulations. The Department of Commerce, Don Bosco College, Kohima, extended its appreciation to all participants, faculty members, and the special invitee for contributing to the informative and impactful event.
