Message from the Principal

Dear Students, Faculty, Alumni, and Friends of Don Bosco College, Kohima (DBCK),

It is with immense joy and a profound sense of responsibility that I, Fr. Dr. Tious Varghese SDB, assume the role of Principal at Don Bosco College, Kohima, effective June 11th, 2024. This institution, affectionately known as DBCK, has a rich history and a promising future. From its humble beginnings with 135 students, it has blossomed into a vibrant educational community of over 1,200 students. This incredible growth stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication and commitment of our highly talented staff and well-grounded teaching faculty.

As we begin on this new chapter together, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my predecessor, Fr. Dr. Suresh SDB. His exemplary leadership and tireless efforts over the past nine years have been pivotal in shaping DBCK into the distinguished institution it is today. His commitment to academic excellence and holistic development has laid a solid foundation upon which we will continue to build. Fr. Dr. Suresh's vision and dedication have left an indelible mark on our college, and we owe him a debt of gratitude for his selfless service.

At DBCK, our mission is clear: to become a premier destination for higher education, known for its academic rigor, supportive community, and commitment to the holistic development of each student. We strive to create a learning environment that is not only intellectually stimulating but also nurturing and inclusive. Our multidisciplinary facilities are designed to cater to the diverse aspirations and talents of our students, ensuring that the dreams of every youth are nurtured and realized.

Education at DBCK is firmly rooted in the Christian values envisioned by our founder, Don Bosco. These values of compassion, integrity, and service are at the core of everything we do. The Don Bosco Society, which spans over 130 countries, is dedicated to providing quality education that is both comprehensive and value-based. Here at DBCK, we are proud to be part of this global mission, committed to offering an enriching educational experience that prepares our students not only for successful careers but also for meaningful lives of purpose and service.

As we look to the future, our vision is to make DBCK a beacon of excellence in higher education. We aim to foster an environment where students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop their talents, and grow into well-rounded individuals. We are committed to providing a holistic education that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit, equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

To our students, I extend a warm welcome. You are the heart and soul of our institution, and we are here to support you in every step of your academic journey. Take advantage of the opportunities that DBCK offers, engage with your peers and professors, and strive for excellence in all that you do. Remember that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about developing character and building relationships.

Dear staff and faculty I express my heartfelt appreciation for your dedication and hard work. Your commitment to excellence and your passion for teaching and mentoring are what make DBCK a special place. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower our students to reach their full potential.

To our alumni, parents, and friends of the college, I invite you to stay connected and engaged with DBCK. Your support and involvement are crucial to our continued success. Whether through mentorship, partnership, or philanthropy, your contributions help us to provide the best possible education for our students.

In conclusion, I am honored to lead Don Bosco College, Kohima, and I am excited about the journey ahead. Together, let us continue to build on our strong foundation, striving for excellence in all that we do and making DBCK a place where dreams are realized and futures are shaped.
